Dateline Normandy -- Chuck, now at the mature age of three months, is starting to ask questions around the chicken/peacock community. We haven't had the heart to tell him. He's, well, adopted.
Not that his adopted mom didn't do a lot of work . She sat on his egg after his biological mama flew the coop. Little does he know she's working at a greasy-spoon diner on the other side of the yard.
The short story is that the many of our ducks this winter became real frisky and began escaping their territory for some romantic outings all througout the grounds. Luckily Gaston didn't help himself to some Duck a' l'Orange.
Jacky found some abandoned duck eggs and put them under the willing surrogate chicken mom and voila, and few weeks later arrives Chuck. He generally hangs near ''mom'' but isn't afraid to mix it up with the roosters when they stir a ruckus. Mostly he can be found taking a dip in his personal pool. ~30~

Well, who wouldn't have an "identity crisis" after having been sat on by a chicken?? HONESTY!!
What a grand idea, this blog is! And all the pictures are great! Especially those of Perry!
Pls make sure my e-mail address (lelphillips@msn.com) is on the list (this is really 'tante linda' writing!
I'm here in S'port for a week, visiting w/Bob, eating non-stop, and getting some shopping done - Kerrville, TX, isn't really the 'haute coutour' that S'port is, unless you want some boots!
All for now .
Love,
Linda
