Ah, home sweet home

Dateline Normandy -- What a difference a 3 1/2-hour trip by TGV can make. That's what it took for the T's to make it to the Languedoc region in southern France for a visit with friends in the countryside followed by a ``weekend for 2.'' Greeted by a blue sky and just-right temperatures right off the train, the threesome headed to a postcard-perfect village in the hills where their cookie-baking (http://www.cookie-doc.com) friends graciously put them up. The visit was part of plans to leave the Little One with the family of 4 for 3 days -- the first couple outing without Le Petit. After a visit to the neighborhood playground where P and his 2 friends played their hearts out and a walk through the tiny but tres, tres charmant town, the group settled down for a great dinner at home on the terrace (without sweaters! go figure.) P-Man and the kids got on just swimmingly and certainly made the next day departure without the little one easier on mom and pops. In fact, he was adopted as one of their own so well that S and C were worried they might have a fight on their hands to get him back. In the end, our courageous -- and tres sympa -- friends gave nothing but glowing reviews on P's comportement during our absence. Whew! As for the weekend pour deux, a beautiful drive through the Languedoc and Provence region with stays in some amazing hotels and villages was just what the doc ordered. Merci encore, nos amis. ~30~

S, I now forgive you for skipping another week without posting! I miss it! Your trip sounds and looks beautiful. Soooo happy you shared it with us. P, as usual, is growing "like a weed" and is so beautiful. Actually, your family and life is beautiful. You and C are such a beautiful couple and you topped it off with such a gorgeous son! Can't thank you enough for all the pictures and details of your "get-away" for two. The hotel and food looked dreamy........
