Dateline Cap Ferret, France -- The T's got half of what they wanted. That is, hot, sunny weather for one week on the amazing French Atlantic coast. The forecast was promising. On the day of departure from Normandy via le Saab, the temps jumped from the 70's to mid-80s with nothing but sunny skies. By the time they arrived at the house in Cap Ferret, there was some serious heat and the T's rushed as quickly as possible with the home owners through the walk-through so that they could launch cannonballs in the chilly water of the pool. After 20 minutes of some serious sweating, success -- all the T's were in the water. P didn't even hesistate for his first water entry. Nor did he later when introduced to the small beach at the Bay of Archachon, with its calm, lake-like water, it was perfect for kids. For four days, things were peachy with lots of sun, beach, pool and outdoor summer beverages and cookouts. Then came the onslaught of what the T's had hoped to escape - rain and cold. Temps fell as quickly and the raindrops, so the T's had to make do with playing indoors and hitting the village for beverages and massages. Still, half is better than none and the T's and P especially had a ball with the short time they had around the pool and at the beach. They are already making plans for their return next summer, where surfing lessons will be on tap for mom, dad and the P-Man. ~30~
