Dateline Normandy -- The final days of summer are too rapidly coming to a close in Normandy even as September is turning out nicer than the wet and cool days of August, we hear, since the T's were on their U.S. heat-wave tour. Since their return, les Americains have been readjusting to life a la francaise - including getting used once again to bagging their own groceries, no ``how you doin' today, hon?'' store greetings, and the lack of Whole Foods and okra to name a few. Still, the group has managed to get back on track somewhat. Highlights and lowlights include P starting his second year of nursery school with no complaints; S was satisfied with his 9-hour-grilled bbq pulled pork complete with homemade slaw, bbq sauce and baked beans that seemed to win over their frenchy friends; C was happy to finally have an occasion to sport her fancy Italian rainboots purchased in Charleston; P is proving to be the best plum picker and eater this side of the Seine and is excited about the return of ``Pancake Sunday'' with hand-picked blackberries - le petit also has quickly refound his French after speaking mostly English in his first day back at school; les girls are treating the threesome to some great dinners are giving Gaston much-appreciated daily walkings; moles continue to lay waste to all of S's efforts for a manicured lawn - dynamite a la Caddieshack being considered; peacock chicks are now adolescents meaning too many critters walking about the grounds - S considering training them as mole-chasers. Voila - the update at Chateau Blanc. -30-
