Dateline Marrakech -- Home is where the sun is, and that's definitely Morocco. The T's took over the private home La Pivoine just outside of Marrakech where the trio enjoyed nothing but blue skies and mid-90s temps everyday - definitely a change of pace from Normandy. Along with the enormous pool and la piece de la resistance - the house itself, les trois americaines were spoiled silly with an amazing staff of 3 that served up 3 unbelievable meals a day outside - not to mention another 2 aperitif services in between. They also did laundry and handled all garden and pool upkeep - like staying at a 5-star hotel while being the only guests. The enclosed property is filled with acres of olives trees and a manicured lawn. The T's were so comfortable that they weren't too motivated to do much else than laze by the piscine and enjoy the local wine, olives and other goodies. As for P, he's still de-pruning from all of his time in the pool and managed to easily win over the hearts and minds of the staff with his greetings in Arabic and his never-ending hugs of gratitude. The T's were able to fit in a couple of sorties to the center of Marrakech where the expats definitely overpaid for some gorgeous pottery and feasted again on some yummy local eats. The city itself is quite amazing with its chaotic and exotic streets and markets and the locals couldn't have been more friendly. It certainly merits a return visit just to spend more time exploring. The T's will certainly pencil in another visit soon. Salam alaykum!
