That Burning Sensation: An Afternoon in Rouen

Checking out some sidewalk music

Running out of gas...

16th century buildings

The memorial marking where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake

The Joan of Arc Church and Museum

Dateline Normandy -- The T's needed to get out and about last weekend so the trio headed to Rouen, about 25 minutes from Chateau Blanc. The city, mostly destroyed by allied bombs in WWII, is now a busy metropolitan center with a university of over 50,000 students. It's also where Joan of Arc met her fiery fate, in the center of town. While it ain't Paree, the city has its own charms and is chock full of restaurants, bars, museums and cinemas. Good enough for Les Americains to lunch and stroll around on a Saturday afternoon. ~30~
