Invasion at Chateau Blanc: T's Suppress Trekker Assault

Dateline Normandy -- The T's found themselves surrounded last weekend on the chateau grounds by a group of about 50 French bearing walking sticks and reflective vests. Fortunately the less-than-rowdy group were of the friendly variety, thus averting a potential move by C to appear on the balcony to tell them to go eat cake, or even maybe some pie or brownies. Anyway, the group turned out to be trekkers in a charity walk organized as part of the local muscular dystrophy campaign. Apparently each year the local walk ends at a chateau in the region where the guide recites a bit of history of the house. So this year Chateau Blanc was chosen as the destination. While the organizer had told the T's it would be a brief discussion near the front gates and that they needn't really bother with doing a meet and greet, the Americans looked out to see a swarm of visitors storming the property, peering through windows, stampeding around the duck pond and putting the fear of God into the nomadic peacocks. The T's were then called into diplomatic action as the organizer knocked on the door with a herd of the walkers mobilized on the front lawn. So a slightly embarrassed S and C walked out and waved to the cheering crowd -- ok, so maybe they weren't really cheering. Still, everyone was charming and the T's actually met more people who had played or stayed at the chateau as children during and after WWII, so more valuable history to pass on to the P-Man. ~30~

What an informative narrative of your surprise visit by throngs of Frenchmen/women. Your life is certainly interesting. Yes, you will have many historical stories to recite to P as he gets older. Can hardly wait to see all of you in a few days. Thanks, as always, Stephen for taking the time to share your lives with us.
