Dateline Cap Ferret -- The T's have concluded that Cap Ferret may indeed be the best non-tropical beach around. Those looking for T-shirt stands and arcades will be disappointed. Here it's wild coastline with ZERO development. The houses are tucked in under pine trees between the Atlantic and the Bay of Archachon with little villages here and there providing all you need. Oyster houses dot the cape around the lighthouse where you can do a tasting of the local delicacy. The beach rolls for miles and all one can see is pristine sand and big waves. And the best part: Hardly a soul in sight. ~30~
