Unable to Shut Their Pie Hole, T's Feed Sweet Tooth With Fruit Bounty

The apples are fattening up for cider pressing this fall...

The rhubarb before the massacre

Making the cut...

Blanc bounty: Rhubarb and raspberries from the potager; eggs direct from the chateau chicken ranch

Pie prep

Giant gooseberries

Regular gooseberries

Dateline Normandy -- A more-than-generous yield of fresh rhubarb meant some face-stuffing with sweet treats at Chateau Blanc this weekend as S whipped up a rhubarb crumble one night and a rhubarb-banana pie the next. Tons more await to be picked, ensuring even more goodies for the next few weeks to come, while a bumper crop of raspberries are headed for cobblers and jams with the rest saved in the freezer for Sunday-brunch pancakes. Soon the apples will be ready for cider, as well as plums and pears for pies and jam. Au chateau, it's a very fruitful time indeed. ~30~

The fruit is spectacular/impressive and delicious looking. Lettuce ain't half bad either! I am totally impressed with your skills as a gardener and chef. My blackberry cobbler was NOT impressive. The dogs didn't even like it! The berries were beautiful though. So glad you are sharing the harvest with us! Thanks!
