Dateline Normandy -- The T crew finally makes it to the nearby Chateau Cleres after many promised Sunday outings to the chateau-turned-animal-park. They couldn't have picked a finer day - sunny with a whisp of autumn coolness in the air. P-Man was just digging a ride in the baby wagon, taking in mostly the tree tops and the familiar sounds of geese and peacocks (just like home). S and Madame C enjoyed the close encounters with some of the exotic creatures (1,500 in all on the grounds) -- the Australian wallabies (yes, is odd to see Wallabies running free in Normandy), Emus, flamingoes, baboons among others. The chateau dates back to 11th century -- burned by the dang Brits in the 14th century then rebuilt then torn apart during the revolution then rebuilt ---- and is an example of the ``flamboyant gothic'' castle style if any readers out there are interested. Anyhoo, Madame C says we missed the reptile and spider exhibit inside the chateau, so a return visit is probably in store. ~30~

Love your blog! The stories are such fun to read, and Perry is such a beautiful baby. I know you must have such fun with him. Since we only know Steve, we are cautiously guessing that Perry has Steve's eyes...but then again, they may be his mom's eyes and we just don't know it.
Our oldest boys are intrigued that dad has a buddy living in Normandy. They are trying to find a way to swing over to Normandy at the end of their trip to Italy in the Spring. The fact that John has said it is impossible has not deterred them. Now, with the description of your coffee habits, our 2nd son will surely detect a kindred spirit and insist upon a visit....some day, another year, perhaps!
We look forward to catching up with you here, and traveling by armchair as much as possible.
All the best to you in Normandy!

Clearly I need to drag my arse out to Normandy. You mean you actually get a handy man WITH your house? I planted 600 bulbs with my garden crazed husband - we have it all wrong here in the states.
Love the house - more inside pics please of all your hard work. er, maybe Jacky's hard work.
I would also be remiss if I did not mention that the P-Man is cute as a button.
